What is Encore cheer? ›

ENCORE Championships is one of Varsity All Star's competitive cheerleading and dance brands offering both 1 Day and 2 Day competitions throughout the country.

Founded in 1948 by Lawrence “Herkie” Herkimer, NCA was the first organization to host a competition for All-Star teams in 1987. Today, the NCA All-Star National Championship is the largest and most prestigious of its kind with more than 36,000 participants vying for a title.

CHEERSPORT National All Star Cheerleading Championship takes place in Atlanta, GA and hosts over 20,000 athletes each season.

An encore is an additional performance given by performers at the conclusion of a show or concert, usually in response to extended applause from the audience. They are regarded as the most complimentary kind of applause for performers.

Gymnastics undoubtedly contains harder tumbling skills but some factors should be taken into consideration. Cheerleaders often need to choreograph their tumbles to synchronize with others around them. Cheerleaders wear shoes compared to barefoot gymnasts (it's harder to tumble in shoes).

Teams range from Level 1 to Level 7.

Understanding cheerleading levels – the basics

Teams compete on different levels that allow different skills. The level system starts with level 1, followed by level 2, and so on. Level 7 is the highest level in cheerleading, where the most skills are allowed.

This is because with practice, dedication, and hard work comes success. There is no age limit to joining a competitive cheerleading team. However, the majority of teams don't start until the 8th grade, or around age 13. This is just before high school and is a great way get involved in a high impact sport after school.

The DEADLINE to submit an exemption for CHEERSPORT is January 17, 2023. This event has a Housing Requirement and is considered Stay Smart Event. In order to participate in the event, all teams are required to book their lodging through the official housing partner, Connections Housing.

CHEERSPORT National All Star Cheerleading Championship 2024 is scheduled to take place February 17-18, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia.
